Restorative Dentistry

Dental Extractions

Our goal is to preserve your child’s natural teeth whenever possible, but sometimes removing a tooth is the healthiest option. An extraction may be recommended for a tooth that cannot be predictably restored, has an infection, has been significantly damaged by injury, or needs to be removed to support healthy growth and development.

At Little Roots, we’ll carefully evaluate the tooth, explain why an extraction is recommended, and review any appropriate alternatives with you before treatment. We’ll also consider whether a space maintainer or other follow-up care may be needed after a baby tooth is removed.

We tailor every extraction to your child’s age, comfort, and individual needs, using age-appropriate guidance and comfort options to help make the experience as positive as possible.

This page describes clinical care in general terms and is written for parents. It is not advice about your individual child.
