Dental Tooth Trauma & Injuries

Falls, sports, play, and other unexpected accidents can injure baby or permanent teeth. Teeth may become chipped, fractured, loose, displaced, or completely knocked out, and the appropriate treatment depends on the type of injury and the tooth involved.

Prompt evaluation can be important after dental trauma. At Little Roots, we’ll assess the injury, keep your child comfortable, and determine whether the tooth needs treatment, stabilization, or monitoring.

Dental trauma often requires long-term follow-up, even when the tooth looks and feels normal after the initial injury. We’ll continue to monitor the injured tooth and surrounding structures because changes can develop over time.

This page describes clinical care in general terms and is written for parents. It is not advice about your individual child.
